Our work speaks for itself.
Take a look at a selection of my projects with the USAF, crafted with care and designed to make an impact. Each one tells a story of creativity, collaboration, and results.
423D Force Support Squadron Website
Designed and developed from scratch, this website project was created for the 423D Force Support Squadron at RAF Alconbury to better connect U.S. Airmen and their families with the facilities, services and support available on base. Every airbase traditionally operates with a different website style depending on the leadership and direction at the time, and I was fortunate to work on the project during a transition period when a new commander arrived and approved a complete redesign of the digital experience.
Working directly with departments across the base, the aim was to modernise the online presence, improve accessibility to information and ultimately increase engagement and footfall across facilities and services. The project was built in WordPress and gave me the opportunity to not only design the visual direction of the site, but also implement custom coded features including animations, interactive flip cards, embedded media and dynamic layouts to create a more engaging user experience.
The design focused on cinematic military inspired visuals, clean typography and a modern interface that balanced professionalism with usability. By restructuring content and simplifying navigation, users were able to quickly access information relating to events, recreation, travel, community support and family services. The final website was extremely well received by both leadership and staff, with increased traffic across the platform and positive feedback from the military commander and departments involved in the project.
Marketing department Alconbury
As part of the marketing and communications team at RAF Alconbury, I worked across a wide range of creative campaigns supporting facilities and departments throughout the base. Using the Adobe Creative Suite, we designed everything from large format posters and printed leaflets to digital graphics and social media content, helping promote events, activities and services for U.S. Airmen and their families.
The work ranged across multiple areas including outdoor recreation, sporting events, community activities, travel experiences, cafés and entertainment, allowing for a highly creative and varied design approach. From white water rafting and mountain biking promotions to bowling nights and family activities, each piece was designed to be bold, engaging and visually eye catching while still reflecting the energetic community atmosphere of the base.
Alongside the marketing work, we also helped establish a functioning print shop on base, giving departments and members of the community access to custom printed materials and creative support. This allowed people to come directly to us with ideas, requests and campaigns that could be designed, developed and printed in house. The creative process was highly collaborative and open, giving freedom to experiment with typography, textures, layouts and visual styles to create unique promotional materials that stood out around the base and across digital platforms.
423D FSS Marketing Department Banner
One of the more unique and enjoyable parts of working within the 423D Force Support Squadron was the creative freedom each department had to build its own identity and culture. Across the Air Force base, different squadrons and departments adopted their own themes and mascots ranging from Thundercats and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles through to movie inspired concepts that reflected the personalities of the teams.
For the 423D FSS Marketing Department, the chosen theme was Star Wars, which opened the door to create something bold, cinematic and fun while still representing the professionalism of the squadron. Using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, I designed this large scale custom banner featuring a sci fi inspired composition, dramatic typography and iconic visual references that tied the theme together in a playful but impactful way.
The final design became one of the commander’s favourite creative pieces and was professionally printed and displayed outside the marketing department office on base. Projects like this made the experience incredibly rewarding, allowing creativity and personality to be brought into the workplace while helping strengthen team identity and morale through design.
